Quote from: JeffC on Dec 26, 2024, 09:41 PMFor Iphones image resizing is built into their picture app. For Android you can download from the store for free a few different image resizing apps. Max size 800kb per image and five images per post. That's the max size the software will allow.
I'm not so sure that all iPhones have the capability to reduce photo file size. My 2nd generation SE has the latest iOS (18.2) but I was unable to locate a file size reducer. A quick Google search stated that the iPhone built-in photo app DOESN'T have that feature but that it's possible to create one as  "Short Cut". I followed the process and it seemed very putsy (the author even acknowledged that and suggested using a 3rd party app for occasional resizing). The "Image Size" app was the one suggested. I do suppose that the newest iPhones could have that feature but I do imagine that a great many individuals have older iPhones (or worse yet, an Android phone  :o ). I've been using the Image Size app and find it to be OK for my occasional photo posting.
BTW, I'm glad to learn that the photo file size limitation has been increased to 1 MB. The 5 photo per post is certainly adequate for most of us. Thanks for making the change.

I've posted a sticky post in "Forum Support" for resizing on Iphones and Android phones. There used to be an easy way to resize on Iphone when I posted instructions on the previous iteration of the forum but I guess they needed to change things for the sake of change. I posted the most recent instructions.
