The neighborhood business association promotes a "Spooky Saturday" each year around Halloween.  In the past we have stocked up on candy and a few trinkets. Well the nurse & witch report that the non-candy items are much more popular.  So I've upped the buying of toys at the local goodwill outlet.  Crayons, balls, bats, toy cars, little soft stuffed critters, stickers and so on.

The local Goodwill outlet is a massive warehouse where the regular Goodwill stores send their surplus and unsold items.  They sell by the pound.  The customer area has about 100 bins on wheels, each 10x5 feet at counter height. They are sorted by clothes and "not clothes".  During regular hours they switch out 6 bins every 20 minutes. Unsold stuff is then sorted for disposal or recycling.  It's a last chance stop for lots of perfectly good stuff. They have a batch of pre-weighed shopping carts and an large roll on scale to measure with, minus the cart weight x $1.69/pound equals about $30 to $40 for a full loaded shopping cart.  Some larger or heavier items are priced separately.    Goodwill is also about jobs and many of the staffers are well suited for the easy work.  I see some there buying for African's countries or resale shops or stocking up for garage sales.

That rabbit costume is funny. Made me laugh even after just getting a tooth pulled at the dentist today. I see and etch a sketch among the toys. I had one of those as a kid.
